16 What makes the cracking sound during a wellness chiropractic treatment?
The cracking sound during a wellness chiropractic treatment is caused by the release of gas from the joints. This gas is usually nitrogen or carbon dioxide, which is produced naturally by the body. When the joints are manipulated, the pressure on the gas bubbles is released, causing them to expand and make a cracking sound. Many people feel daunted to try chiropractic treatment because of this. But, don’t worry, this cracking sound is perfectly normal and is not indicative of any kind of damage to the joints. In fact, many patients find it quite relaxing. If you are concerned about the noise, feel free to speak to your chiropractor about it. They will be able to put your mind at ease.
